In the third quarter of 2024, the South African Android gaming scene saw significant activity among top sandbox-like games, as observed through Sensor Tower's analytics. Here's a detailed look at the performance of these leading applications.
Roblox from Roblox Corporation maintained a robust presence with weekly revenue surging to a peak of approximately $109K in late September. This revenue growth was complemented by a steady increase in weekly downloads, reaching a high of 42K during the same period. The game's active users fluctuated slightly but remained strong, peaking at over 570K in late July before settling around 524K by the end of the quarter.
School Party Craft, developed by Candy Room Games & RabbitCo, showed a consistent increase in weekly downloads, climbing from 19K at the start of July to nearly 19K again by the end of September. The game also enjoyed a steady growth in active users, rising from 116K to around 141K over the quarter.
Block Craft 3D: Building Game by Wildlife Studios experienced modest revenue with a slight peak of $80 in early September. Weekly downloads varied, starting at 19K, dropping mid-quarter, and then rising again to 13K by the end of September. Active user numbers reflected similar trends, beginning at 75K in July, dipping mid-quarter, and ending at about 65K.
Mini Block Craft from Build Block Studio saw a gradual increase in weekly downloads, starting at 13K and stabilizing around 8K by late September. Active users also showed a positive trend, growing from 43K to over 30K throughout the quarter.
Lastly, Craft World Block Crazy 3D by NT-ABI displayed a steady rise in weekly downloads and active users. Downloads increased from 7.9K in early July to 11K by the end of the quarter, while active users grew from 6K to approximately 10K.
