During the third quarter of 2024, the top five shopping apps on the Android platform in the United Kingdom demonstrated varied performance trends in terms of downloads and active users. Here's a closer look at each app's performance based on data from Sensor Tower.
Temu: Shop Like a Billionaire started the quarter with over 108K downloads, which peaked at around 199K in the first week of September. Its weekly active users hovered above 2.3M throughout the quarter, showing slight fluctuations but ending with an increase to approximately 2.7M in the last week of September.
SHEIN-Shopping Online saw its downloads start at 83.9K, with a notable rise to about 165K by mid-September. The app maintained a steady base of over 1.3M weekly active users, with a peak of approximately 1.6M in late August.
AliExpress - Shopping App had a strong start in July with downloads at 147.7K, but this number declined to around 35.7K by the end of the quarter. Active users showed resilience, beginning at 865K and reaching nearly 979K by the end of September.
Vinted - Buy and sell clothes experienced gradual growth in downloads, starting at 36.7K and climbing to about 72.5K by the end of September. Correspondingly, its active user base increased from 891K to over 1M by the quarter's end.
Tesco Grocery & Clubcard displayed consistent download numbers, starting at 38.9K and ending at 38.1K. Its active user count remained stable, fluctuating around 1.2M, and peaking at approximately 1.3M in late August.
