In the third quarter of 2024, the Android shopping app landscape in Nigeria showcased notable trends among the top five applications. This analysis, based on data from Sensor Tower, provides insights into weekly downloads and active user statistics for each app.

JUMIA Online Shopping maintained a strong presence with weekly downloads fluctuating between approximately 41K and 66K. The app saw a peak in downloads during mid-August with around 66K. Active users hovered around the 450K mark, peaking at nearly 539K in mid-August before declining to approximately 465K by the end of September.

Alibaba.com - B2B marketplace recorded a steady increase in downloads, starting at about 12K in early July and reaching a high of 26.5K in late July. Active users followed a similar upward trajectory, starting at 258K and peaking at over 322K in late July. Despite some fluctuations, the app ended the quarter with over 304K active users.

Cardgoal - Sell Gift Cards exhibited consistent download numbers, with figures ranging from 12K to 19.8K. Active users increased steadily throughout the quarter, starting at 116K and climbing to a peak of approximately 174K in late September.

Jiji Nigeria: Buy&Sell Online experienced a decline in downloads from early July, with numbers falling from 19.5K to around 13.7K by late July. However, downloads rebounded towards the end of the quarter, reaching 16.9K. The app's active user base showed resilience, maintaining figures around 250K, peaking at 268K at the start of the quarter.

247Data | Cheap Data had a significant decrease in downloads after an initial high of 33.8K in early July, dropping to as low as 1.3K in late August. A recovery was observed in September, with downloads climbing back to about 15.9K. Active users demonstrated a gradual increase from 67K at the start of the quarter to over 62K by the end.
