In the third quarter of 2024, Tunisia's Android shopping app market saw significant activity, with Alibaba.com - B2B marketplace, SHEIN-Shopping Online, JUMIA Online Shopping, Temu: Shop Like a Billionaire, and gift sun leading the way. Here's a closer look at their performance based on data from Sensor Tower.
Alibaba.com - B2B marketplace experienced a notable increase in weekly downloads, starting at around 7.6K in early July and peaking at over 20K in early September. This was accompanied by a growth in weekly active users, climbing from approximately 275K at the start of the quarter to around 314K by the end of September.
SHEIN-Shopping Online also saw a boost in downloads, with figures rising from 5.2K in early July to around 13.5K by the end of the quarter. The app's weekly active users showed a steady increase, starting at 88.5K and reaching 118.3K by the close of September.
JUMIA Online Shopping maintained a consistent download rate, with numbers fluctuating between 4.4K and 9.2K throughout the quarter. The app's weekly active users saw a slight peak in mid-August at 114.6K, before settling at 98.3K by the end of September.
Temu: Shop Like a Billionaire had more variable download numbers, starting at 4.8K, dropping mid-quarter, and then recovering to 4K by the end of September. Weekly active users mirrored this trend, showing an initial decline from 22.6K to 19.3K but eventually rising back to 25.3K.
Lastly, gift sun saw a dramatic increase in its initial weeks, with downloads rising from just 27 to a peak of 8.8K in late August, before tapering off to 411 by the end of September. The active user base followed a similar pattern, peaking at 12.9K in late August and declining to 6.7K by the end of the quarter.
