In the third quarter of 2024, the educational app landscape on iOS in Kenya showcased significant trends and shifts. According to Sensor Tower data, the top-performing apps include Duolingo - Language Lessons, Clever: Brain Logic Training, Tala LMS, Keiki Learning games for Kids, and Google Classroom. Here's a closer look at their performance over the quarter.
Duolingo - Language Lessons experienced a notable increase in weekly revenue, peaking at about $910 towards mid-September. The app's weekly downloads showed a consistent upward trend, reaching 982 by early September. Weekly active users also grew steadily, starting from 4.6K in early July and reaching 5.6K by the end of the quarter.
Clever: Brain Logic Training saw a gradual decline in weekly revenue, dropping from $284 at the beginning of the quarter to $256 by the end. Downloads fluctuated throughout the period, with a high of 551 in early July and a low of 154 by the end of September. Active users decreased from 2K in early July to around 1.5K by the end of the quarter.
Tala LMS focused on growing its user base with weekly downloads increasing from 129 in early July to a peak of 390 in mid-August. However, there were no recorded revenues during this period.
Keiki Learning games for Kids saw its weekly revenue fluctuate, peaking at $243 in late August. Downloads decreased overall, with a notable dip in August, recovering slightly to 168 by the end of September. Active users followed a similar trend, starting at 225 in early July and ending at 176.
Google Classroom showed an increase in downloads, rising from 182 in early July to a peak of 325 by mid-September. Active users remained robust, starting at 6.7K in early July and peaking at 7.1K in early September.
