In the third quarter of 2024, the performance of the top navigation apps on iOS in Russia demonstrated varying trends in downloads, revenue, and active users, according to data from Sensor Tower.
Yandex Maps & Navigator, developed by Direct Cursus Computer Systems Trading, saw a fluctuating revenue pattern, peaking at around $1.9K in the last week of September. The app's downloads started strong with approximately 100K in early July but experienced a gradual decline, ending the quarter with about 58K. However, the app maintained a robust active user base, increasing to 3.1M by late September.
2GIS: Offline Map & Navigation, published by LLC "DoubleGIS", did not generate revenue during this period. The app's downloads peaked at about 71K in early July and decreased to around 45K by the end of September. Despite this, active users showed a positive trend, reaching nearly 1.4M by the quarter's end.
Google Maps did not record any revenue, but its downloads reached approximately 57K in early July, declining to about 36K by late September. The app's active users dropped from over 3.2M to around 2.6M over the quarter.
Yandex Navi – navigation, maps experienced a steady revenue stream, with a peak at around $9.2K in mid-July. Downloads started at about 40K, decreasing to around 26K by September's end. Active users remained stable, fluctuating slightly but ending at approximately 803K.
Lastly, MosMetro – metro, MCD, MCC did not record any revenue. Downloads fluctuated, peaking at around 24K in early September before tapering off to about 14K. The active user count increased significantly, ending the quarter at nearly 399K.
