The third quarter of 2024 brought notable changes in the performance of leading utilities apps on the iOS platform in the United States. Here, we delve into the trends for the top five apps, based on data from Sensor Tower.
Google saw a fluctuating download count throughout the quarter, starting at approximately 518K downloads in early July and peaking at around 547K in the week of July 8. The weekly active users remained relatively stable, hovering around 9.4M with minor fluctuations.
Google Chrome demonstrated a steady increase in downloads, beginning at 243K and reaching a peak of 314K by the end of August. Its weekly active users showed minor variations, maintaining a consistent figure around 10.6M throughout the quarter.
Calculator - Pad Edition experienced a significant upward trend in downloads, starting at 102K in early July and rising to 180K by the end of September. Revenue showed a downward trend, starting at $450 and declining to $56 by the end of the quarter. Weekly active users exhibited a strong growth trajectory, increasing from 641K to nearly 883K.
Google Authenticator maintained a consistent download pattern, beginning with 100K downloads and peaking at 136K in late August. The app’s weekly active users also showed a steady increase, starting at 562K and reaching 618K by the end of September.
Lastly, Cleanup: Phone Storage Cleaner showed a robust revenue growth, starting at $436K and climbing steadily to over $606K by the end of September. Downloads fluctuated but ended on a high note, increasing from 125K to 144K. Weekly active users also increased from 488K to 572K during this period.
