In the third quarter of 2024, the top photography apps in the United States showcased varied performance trends across downloads, revenue, and active users. Here's a closer look at how these apps fared on a unified platform, with data sourced from Sensor Tower.
Photoroom AI Photo Editor demonstrated a fluctuating trend in weekly revenue, starting at about $343K in early July and peaking at roughly $363K by the end of September. Weekly downloads saw a notable dip, starting at around 145K and ending at approximately 101K. Active users also experienced a decline, with numbers decreasing from 425K to 395K over the quarter.
For Picsart: AI Photo Video Editor, the app maintained a steady revenue stream, beginning the quarter at $600K and closing with $624K. Download trends showed a moderate increase, peaking at about 197K mid-quarter and ending with 182K. Active users displayed a gradual decline, starting at 2.38M and finishing at just under 2M.
FaceApp: Perfect Face Editor saw a steady revenue increase, culminating at over $813K by the end of September. Downloads fluctuated slightly, with a peak of about 70K in late July and ending the quarter at 54K. Active user numbers remained relatively stable, hovering around the 520K mark towards the end of the quarter.
Lightroom Photo & Video Editor experienced an increase in weekly revenue, closing September at approximately $515K, up from $465K at the start of July. Downloads showed an upward trend, peaking at 136K in early September. Active users remained consistent, with a slight increase from 886K to 870K throughout the quarter.
Lastly, Private Photo Vault - Keepsafe ended the quarter with a modest revenue increase, reaching $162K. Downloads peaked in mid-September with around 14K, while active users saw fluctuations, starting at 424K and closing at 460K.
