During the third quarter of 2024, the travel and local app category saw notable activity in Brazil. Here's a closer look at the performance of the top five apps in this segment, based on data from Sensor Tower.
Airbnb demonstrated a consistent increase in weekly downloads, peaking at approximately 161K in mid-September. The app's active users also rose steadily, beginning at 986K in early July and reaching around 1.15M by late September.
BlaBlaCar: Carpooling and Bus experienced fluctuations in downloads, with a high of 81K in mid-July before stabilizing at around 74K by the end of the quarter. Weekly active users showed a dynamic pattern, starting at 1.95M and ending at 1.88M.
Booking.com: Hotels & Travel saw its downloads vary, peaking at 86K in mid-July, before closing the quarter at approximately 76K. Active users presented a minor decline to 2.39M by the end of September, after initially peaking at 2.52M in mid-July.
Decolar: Voos e Hotéis had a slight dip in downloads in early August, reaching a low of 53K, before recovering to 63K by the end of September. Active users remained relatively stable, fluctuating around 770K throughout the quarter.
Google Earth maintained a more stable trend in downloads, with numbers ranging from 42K to 54K. Active users hovered around the 340K mark, showcasing a consistent user base during the quarter.
