In the fourth quarter of 2024, the platformer game category on iOS in South Africa showcased interesting trends across the top five games, as reported by Sensor Tower.

Subway Surfers from Sybo Games ApS saw a notable increase in weekly downloads, peaking at approximately 6.7K towards the end of December. Weekly revenue also rose significantly, reaching a high of about $712 in late November. The game's active users grew steadily, climbing from 86.9K in early October to an impressive 152K by the end of December.

Going Balls by SUPERSONIC STUDIOS LTD maintained a stable performance in terms of downloads, with a peak of around 1.7K in the last week of December. Although its revenue remained modest, there was a noticeable increase in active users from 5.1K to 5.2K over the quarter.

Geometry Dash Lite from RobTop Games AB experienced a consistent rise in downloads, culminating at about 1.7K in late December. Despite no revenue generation, the app's active user base grew from 8.4K to nearly 12.9K by the quarter's end.

Stack Ball 3D by Azur Interactive Games Limited had fluctuating downloads, peaking at around 1.1K in mid-December. Revenue was minimal, yet active users increased from 4.2K to 5.8K, indicating a positive engagement trend.

Lastly, Temple Run by Imangi Studios, LLC showed a steady download rate, ending the quarter with about 970 weekly downloads. While revenue was low, the active user count rose from 2.9K to 3K, reflecting stable user interaction.
