During the first quarter of 2025, the city building game genre on iOS in Australia showcased varied performances among the top five applications. Here’s a look at their trends in downloads, revenue, and active users based on data from Sensor Tower.
Civilization VI: NETFLIX saw a fluctuating pattern in weekly downloads, peaking at around 2K in early February before declining to just under 800 by the end of March. The game maintained a consistent number of weekly active users, reaching a high of approximately 2.5K mid-quarter.
State Connect: Traffic Control experienced a notable increase in weekly downloads, starting at around 300 and peaking at over 2K by late January. Its weekly revenue saw a gradual increase, maxing at $140 in early March, while active users followed a similar upward trend, reaching over 3.4K.
Gold Rush: Frozen Adventures reported a decline in weekly downloads, beginning the quarter with 2.6K and dropping to 326 by the end of March. Despite this, the game maintained steady weekly revenue, fluctuating between $400 and $600, and active users remained stable, ending the quarter at over 3.5K.
SimCity BuildIt consistently generated significant weekly revenue, ranging from $10K to $14K, while downloads remained stable around 1K per week. The active user base was strong, maintaining numbers above 9K throughout the quarter.
Finally, Land Builder showed a steady decline in weekly downloads from 1.4K to 655, with revenue peaking at $566 by late March. Active users saw a slight dip but remained above 2K by the quarter’s end.
