In the first quarter of 2025, the health and fitness app market on iOS in New Zealand saw notable trends across the top applications, as reported by Sensor Tower.
Strava: Run, Bike, Walk maintained a robust performance. Weekly revenue showed fluctuations, peaking at approximately $14.2K in early March. Downloads started strong with around 3.1K in early January but gradually declined to about 1.9K by the end of March. Active users remained relatively stable, averaging around 57K, with some decreases towards the end of the quarter.
MyFitnessPal: Calorie Counter experienced varied revenue, reaching a high of $13.1K in early January. Downloads were steady, starting at 2.2K in the same period, and active users peaked at 15.9K mid-January before decreasing towards the quarter's end.
Flo Cycle & Period Tracker showed a consistent revenue stream, peaking at $10.6K in mid-March. Downloads fluctuated slightly, with a peak of 1.8K in late January. Active users hovered around 11.5K, with a slight drop towards March's end.
Runna: Running Training Plans saw its revenue peak at $8.6K in late January, while downloads began at 1.5K in early January, gradually decreasing over the quarter. Active users remained around 6.5K, showing minimal variation.
Headspace: Meditation & Health experienced a peak in revenue of $5.4K in early January. Downloads were modest, starting at 185 and decreasing to 139 by the end of March. Active users showed an upward trend, starting at 5K and ending at 4K, after experiencing a dip mid-quarter.
