In the first quarter of 2025, the carpooling and ridesharing market in Algeria showed varied performance across top applications. Here's a breakdown of how these apps fared on a unified platform.
Yassir - Ride, Eat & Shop maintained significant traction with weekly downloads peaking at around 64K at the end of March. The app also saw a notable increase in weekly active users, rising from approximately 1.3M to 1.6M over the quarter.
inDrive. Rides with fair fares experienced fluctuating download numbers, with a high of 58K in late February. Active users showed a moderate increase, closing the quarter at roughly 461K.
Heetch - Ride-hailing app had consistent weekly downloads, with a low of 14K in early March, rebounding to 26K by the end of the month. Active users peaked mid-quarter at nearly 650K.
Yassir driver: Partner app saw steady weekly downloads, with numbers hovering around 5K, while active users remained relatively stable, averaging around 50K throughout the quarter.
Lastly, TaxiSafe showed a dramatic increase in downloads, reaching 21K mid-March before a sharp decline. Active users followed a similar pattern, peaking at 28K.
