In the first quarter of 2025, Nigeria's dating app market saw varied trends across the top five platforms, according to data from Sensor Tower.
Tinder Dating App: Chat & Date experienced fluctuations in weekly revenue, peaking at around $14.5K in late February. Downloads were relatively stable, ranging from 18.8K to 23.6K weekly, while active users showed a recovery towards the end of the quarter, rising from 176.6K to 191.8K.
Bumble Dating App: Meet & Date saw a consistent increase in revenue, reaching $8.9K at the end of February. Weekly downloads surged in early March, peaking at 18.9K, and active users rose to 92.8K by the end of the quarter.
BuzzCast - Live Video Chat App showed a steady rise in revenue, culminating at $8.6K in early March. Downloads and active users also grew, with downloads reaching 7.1K and active users increasing to 19.3K by the end of March.
Bumpy – International Dating experienced a decline in downloads from 31.3K to 12.2K over the quarter. Revenue also saw a downward trend, closing at around $5.2K, while active users decreased to 71.4K by the end of March.
Badoo Dating App: Meet & Date maintained a steady revenue stream, peaking at $5.1K in late February. Downloads increased to 16.1K in mid-March, with active users rising to 115.1K by the end of the quarter.
