During the first quarter of 2025, the top dating apps in South Africa have shown varying trends in downloads, revenue, and active users, based on data from Sensor Tower.
Tinder Dating App: Chat & Date maintained a strong presence with weekly revenue fluctuating between approximately $40K and $51K. Downloads saw a mid-quarter dip but recovered to around 15K by the end of March. Active users experienced a gradual decline from 306K to 221K.
OmeTV – Video Chat Alternative showed an upward trend in revenue, peaking at $1.3K in late March. Downloads increased significantly, reaching over 16K by the quarter's end, while active users saw a rise from 56K to 52K.
Dating and Chat - iHappy had modest revenue figures, but downloads surged, peaking at 18K in the last week. Active users also rose, finishing the quarter at 72K.
WeLive - Video Chat&Meet recorded steady revenue, ending at $2.7K. Downloads fluctuated, peaking at over 10K in early February. Active users increased from 13K to 20K over the quarter.
RIZZ experienced stable revenue around $500, with downloads showing a slight increase to 7.2K by the end of March. Active users remained steady, closing the quarter at 40K.
