In the first quarter of 2025, sandbox-like games experienced varying levels of success across Europe. Here’s a closer look at how the top five games performed, based on data from Sensor Tower.
Roblox, developed by Roblox Corporation, saw a notable decline in weekly revenue, starting from approximately $6M at the beginning of January and tapering to around $1.7M by the end of March. Weekly downloads also decreased from 1.4M to about 796K. Active users fluctuated throughout the quarter, ending with around 48M.
Block Craft 3D:Building Game by Wildlife Studios maintained a steady revenue, averaging around $4.5K weekly. Downloads peaked at over 414K in mid-January but dropped to approximately 246K by the end of March. Active users reached a high of 2.5M in January and ended the quarter with roughly 2M.
PK XD: Fun, friends & games from Afterverse Games showed an upward trend in revenue, ending the quarter with about $81K weekly. Downloads varied, peaking at 240K in late December and closing at nearly 199K. Active users hovered around 1.4M, with minor fluctuations.
Town Building Life Simulator by XGame Global had modest revenue growth, reaching $353 in early March. Downloads peaked at 208K in February before falling to 88K by the end of March. The app's active user base saw a peak of 484K in mid-February, dropping to 321K by the quarter’s end.
Lastly, School Party Craft from Candy Room Games & RabbitCo reported no revenue but maintained a stable download rate, starting at 198K and ending at around 130K. Active users decreased from 529K to 418K over the quarter.
