2026 State of Mobile is Live!

In the second quarter of 2025, the virtual pet category on iOS in the United States saw significant activity. Here's a closer look at the performance of the top five apps, based on data from Sensor Tower.
My Talking Tom 2 from Outfit7 Limited experienced a steady decline in weekly revenue from $2.3K at the start of April to around $1.4K in mid-May. However, it rebounded to $2K by the end of June. Weekly downloads showed a similar pattern, starting at approximately 47K and dropping to 33K before rising again to 40K. Active users increased from 278K to 380K, showing a positive trend overall.
Pengu – Raise Virtual AI Pets by SLAY GmbH maintained consistent weekly revenue, hovering around $9K to $12K. Downloads started at 26K and fluctuated slightly, ending at 20K. Active users decreased from 358K to 276K over the quarter.
My Talking Angela 2 also by Outfit7 Limited, saw a drop in weekly revenue from $8K to $4K in May, then increased to $13K by mid-June before settling at $9K. Downloads and active users followed a similar pattern, with downloads starting at 29K and rising to 32K, while active users increased from 278K to 287K.
My Talking Tom experienced steady weekly revenue around $500. Downloads remained stable at around 20K, while active users showed an increase from 54K to 93K by the end of June.
Lastly, My Talking Tom Friends saw weekly revenue fluctuate between $3.4K and $4.6K. Downloads began at 18K, dropping to 14K before returning to 18K. Active users decreased from 115K to 85K.
