In the second quarter of 2025, the UK saw significant activity in the carpooling and ridesharing app market. Here's a closer look at the performance of the top five apps, based on data from Sensor Tower.
Uber - Request a ride showed a consistent increase in weekly downloads, starting at around 97K and peaking at approximately 131K by the end of June. The app maintained robust user engagement with weekly active users rising from 5.9M to about 6.8M over the quarter.
For Bolt: Request a Ride, downloads began at 44K, climbing steadily to reach 54K by the quarter's end. Its active user base also grew significantly from 1.1M to 1.4M, indicating strong user retention and engagement.
Uber - Driver: Drive & Deliver experienced a gradual increase in downloads, starting at 19K and reaching 22K. Weekly active users saw fluctuations but ended on a positive note, moving from 394K to 404K.
Grab: Taxi Ride, Food Delivery experienced a decline in downloads from 18K to 13K, but weekly active users showed resilience, increasing from 832K to 878K by the end of June.
Lastly, inDrive. Save on city rides maintained a stable performance with downloads hovering around 11K and active users fluctuating slightly, ending the quarter at approximately 65K.
