In the second quarter of 2025, the top music and podcast apps in Sweden showed varied performance trends across downloads, revenue, and active users on a unified platform. Here’s a closer look at the data provided by Sensor Tower.
Spotify: Music and Podcasts maintained a strong presence with weekly revenue peaking at around $55K in late April and June. Downloads fluctuated slightly, with numbers reaching approximately 8.3K mid-June. Active users remained stable, averaging around 1.9M throughout the quarter.
Podme - Podcasts & Audiobooks experienced steady weekly revenue, peaking at about $40K in late June. Downloads saw a significant increase in early June, reaching over 4.4K. The app’s active users also rose, peaking at 26.6K by the end of the quarter.
SoundCloud: The Music You Love had a revenue peak of approximately $37.5K in late June, with downloads showing a slight decline over the quarter. Active users started strong in early April at about 162K but decreased to around 132K by the end of June.
YouTube Music saw revenue peaks of $24K in late June, while downloads remained relatively stable around 2K weekly. Active users fluctuated, peaking at about 250K in late April before settling around 209K by the end of the quarter.
TIDAL Music: HiFi Sound reported a revenue increase to over $12K in late June. Downloads were modest, peaking at 814 in the final week. Active users showed a slight increase towards the end of the quarter, reaching about 12K.
