Top Navigation and Maps Apps Performance in the UK, Q2 2025

In the second quarter of 2025, the top navigation and maps applications in the United Kingdom showed varying trends in downloads and active user engagement on a unified platform. According to Sensor Tower, here’s how the leading apps performed.

Waze Navigation & Live Traffic experienced a steady increase in weekly downloads, peaking at approximately 70.3K by the end of June. The app maintained a strong user base, with weekly active users climbing from 3.7M to about 4.3M throughout the quarter.

Google Maps saw fluctuating download numbers, starting at 61.5K and reaching a high of 67.8K by the end of the quarter. Its active user base remained robust, with a slight increase from 38.6M to 39.5M. Notably, a minor revenue spike of $13 was recorded in late May.

what3words: Navigation & Maps showed a positive trend in downloads, growing from 43.7K in early April to 56.6K in late June. Active users also rose, peaking at 1.2M by the quarter's end.

myRAC had a varied download trajectory, with numbers ranging from 41.8K to 55.9K. Active users increased steadily, reaching 205.8K by late June.

Finally, Google Earth maintained a consistent download rate, averaging around 30K weekly. Active user engagement was stable, closing the quarter at approximately 662.9K.
