In the third quarter of 2025, the carpooling and ridesharing app market on Android in the United Kingdom showcased varied trends in downloads and active users. Here's an overview of the top five apps based on data from Sensor Tower.
Uber - Request a ride experienced a noticeable fluctuation in weekly downloads, starting at approximately 57.8K in early July and peaking at 60.9K mid-month. Downloads dropped to around 47.7K by the end of September. Active users began at 2.7M, dipped to 2.4M in late July, and then rebounded to 2.6M towards the end of the quarter.
Bolt: Request a Ride had a steady increase in downloads, starting from 22.4K and reaching a peak of 26.2K in early September. Active users followed a similar trend, beginning at 610K and ending at 454K, with a significant increase to 520K in early September.
For Uber - Driver: Drive & Deliver, downloads ranged from 11.2K to 13.5K throughout the quarter. Active users started at 228K, peaking at 253K in mid-September, before dropping to 215K by the end of September.
inDrive. Rides with fair fares saw a gradual increase in downloads, starting at 3.8K and reaching 5.6K by early August. Active users increased steadily from 26.6K to 29.9K over the quarter.
Freenow by Lyft - taxi & more maintained a consistent download rate, fluctuating between 4.4K and 4.9K. Active users increased from 60.7K to 62.7K by the end of September.
