In the third quarter of 2025, the top communication apps on the Android platform in Algeria demonstrated varying trends in downloads, revenue, and active user engagement, as tracked by Sensor Tower.
WhatsApp Messenger maintained a robust presence with weekly downloads peaking at approximately 212K by the end of September. The app's active users saw a steady increase from 25.3M at the beginning of July to about 26.5M by the end of the quarter.
Snapchat experienced a modest fluctuation in weekly downloads, starting at 100K and reaching a high of 148K in late August. Revenue trends showed a slight increase, peaking at around $1.6K in the last week of September. Active users hovered around 8.3M throughout the quarter.
Messenger saw a gradual rise in downloads, culminating in 155K by late September. The app's active user base remained stable, slightly increasing from 22.8M to over 23.1M.
Truecaller: Spam Call Blocker showed a significant spike in weekly downloads, reaching 158K in mid-September. While revenue remained steady around $600-$800, active users slightly declined from 15.8M to 15.4M.
Finally, Telegram reported a consistent rise in downloads, peaking at 121K at the end of September. Active users increased from 14.4M to 15.3M, while revenue showed a slight upward trend, ending the quarter at $991.
