In the third quarter of 2025, the United Arab Emirates saw significant activity in the food delivery sector on the Android platform. Here's a look at the performance trends of the top five apps, based on data from Sensor Tower.
talabat: Food, grocery & more experienced a steady increase in weekly downloads, starting at around 19.5K in early July and climbing to 29.1K by the end of September. Active user numbers remained robust, fluctuating slightly but generally maintaining over 1M users throughout the quarter.
Smiles: Food Grocery Lifestyle showed a varied download pattern, peaking at 13.5K in the final week of September. The app's active users also displayed consistent engagement, averaging around 300K users weekly.
Deliveroo: Food & Shopping had a consistent download rate, with a notable peak of 4.5K downloads at the end of the quarter. Active users saw an upward trend, reaching over 120K by the last week of September.
Keeta - Food Delivery experienced a significant surge in downloads, starting modestly and rising sharply to 45.7K by late September. Active user numbers also increased dramatically, culminating at 36.7K by the quarter's end.
Lastly, instashop: Groceries & more maintained a stable download rate, with a notable increase to 4K in the final week. Active user engagement was consistent, hovering around 75K throughout the quarter.
