In the third quarter of 2025, the dating app landscape in New Zealand showcased interesting trends across the top five applications, according to Sensor Tower data.
Tinder Dating App: Date & Chat maintained strong weekly revenue, peaking at approximately $101K in early July. Weekly downloads fluctuated slightly, starting at 1.8K and ending at 1.9K. Active users showed a consistent range, peaking at 31K in late July.
Bumble Dating App: Meet & Date saw a decline in weekly revenue from $36K at the start of the quarter to around $29K by the end. Downloads were relatively stable, averaging around 1.1K weekly, while active users decreased from 23.6K to 17.4K.
Hinge Dating App: Match & Date experienced stable revenue, closing the quarter at $26.8K. Downloads varied, reaching a high of 2.5K in July, and active users increased steadily from 26.4K to 33.4K by the quarter's end.
Grindr - Gay Dating & Chat showed consistent weekly revenue, ending at approximately $15K. Download numbers remained modest, averaging around 400 per week, while active users hovered around 3.6K.
Yubo: Make friends & chat now concluded the quarter with weekly revenue of around $4.3K. Downloads were low, averaging about 300 weekly, and active users slightly decreased from 6.6K to 6.2K.
