In the third quarter of 2025, the top five social networking applications in Tunisia showed varying trends in downloads and active user engagement. Here's a closer look at the performance of these apps, with data provided by Sensor Tower.
Threads from Instagram, Inc. witnessed a fluctuating pattern in weekly downloads, starting at around 15.8K and peaking at 19.2K mid-quarter before settling around 15.3K. Active users displayed a steady increase, rising from approximately 782K to over 828K by the end of the quarter.
Telegram Messenger saw a gradual rise in downloads, beginning at about 15.5K and reaching a high of 26.4K towards the end of the quarter. Active users remained robust, hovering around 1.5M consistently throughout the period. Revenue showed an upward trend, peaking at $301 in early August.
WhatsApp Messenger maintained a strong presence with downloads starting at 27.4K and increasing to 45.4K by late September. The app's active user base grew steadily from 7.15M to approximately 7.44M over the quarter.
Messenger downloads began at 33.8K, reaching a peak of 50.3K at the start of September. Active users showed a consistent growth, moving from 7.25M to about 7.51M by quarter's end.
Lastly, Facebook experienced a steady increase in downloads from 38.3K to 51K. The active user count also showed a positive trend, rising from 5.93M to over 6M. Revenue, however, saw a slight decline, ending at $718 in the final week of September.
