Liam is a Sales Professional with two years of progressive business development experience. He joined Sensor Tower as a Business Development Representative (BDR) in 2022 and was just promoted to a Strategic Consultant for our Finance team.

We recently checked in with Liam for some insights about his role as a BDR. Here's what we found out:

How did you become a Business Development Representative?

I have an educational background in Finance and International business and one of my professional goals was to move into the technology space. When I saw Sensor Tower’s listing for a Business Development Representative on LinkedIn and Indeed, I reached out to a few people at Sensor Tower to learn more about the position and the opportunity.  After speaking with them I realized that the role would allow me to grow my professional skills from the ground up and utilize my financial education in the technology space so I applied, interviewed and was offered the job.

What did you enjoy most about being a BDR at Sensor Tower?

Working and collaborating with my coworkers. Everyone on the Business Development Representative team was so knowledgeable and willing to help. I knew I had a lot of room to grow as a professional and that I wanted to further grow my skills as a salesman and professional. My teammates were always willing to help me in any way they could.

What were the challenges of being a BDR at Sensor Tower?

Dealing with external market conditions but that’s just part of the job. You have to find ways to get creative and surpass those conditions and be comfortable with the fact that you can only control what you can control. You have to accept the highs and lows.

What top 3 things led to your success as a BDR?

1. Being open to new ideas and learning the industry. I had a lot to learn about the role and industry.

2. Keeping a steady mindset to keep moving forward and not stop.

3. Trusting my coworkers around me. They know what they’re doing and sometimes I don’t.

What advice would you give an incoming BDR who is joining Sensor Tower?

  • Don’t be stubborn and be willing to grow.

  • Trust everyone around you.

  • Sensor Tower hires people that are friendly. They are all people I want to work with -- and they all want to help you.
