As the year 2022 wrapped up, the arcade racing genre continued to excite mobile gamers across Europe. Sensor Tower provides a detailed look into how the top five applications in this category fared in the fourth quarter of the year. Here's a snapshot of their performance based on downloads, revenue, and weekly active users.
Gameloft's Asphalt 9: Legends maintained a strong presence with weekly revenues peaking at around 149k and downloads hitting nearly 110k in the last week of December. The game's weekly active users also showed an upward trend, reaching over 260k by the year's end.
MADBOX's Pocket Champs: 3D Racing Games saw its downloads peak at almost 284k in early November, with weekly active users reaching nearly 648k in the same period. Revenue for Pocket Champs fluctuated, with a notable dip to about 62k before rising to around 79k towards the close of the quarter.
Electronic Arts' Need for Speed No Limits showed consistent performance with its revenue climbing to over 111k in mid-December. Downloads for the game soared to over 205k at the end of October, and weekly active users surged to approximately 745k in mid-December, indicating a strong finish for the year.
CarX Drift Racing 2 by CarX Technologies saw its revenue grow to nearly 30k by the end of December, while downloads reached around 76k in the same timeframe. The active user base remained stable, with a slight increase to nearly 297k by the quarter's end.
The newcomer CarX Street, also from CarX Technologies, made a splash with its weekly active users climbing to over 476k in mid-December. Although it had the lowest revenue among the top five, CarX Street witnessed a significant increase in weekly active users since its release in mid-November, indicating a growing interest in the game.
