Kabam's superhero-studded mobile fighting game Marvel Contest of Champions had its best day ever for revenue on Cyber Monday, capturing $3.3 million in player spending and ranking No. 1 among all mobile games in the United States.
This figure was 21 percent higher than its previous best of $2.75 million grossed on July 4 and 6.8 times, or 583 percent, more than it took in on November 19, one week before Cyber Monday. All told, the game's revenue on Monday was enough to place it after only Tencent's megalithic mobile MOBA Honor of Kings as the No. 2 grossing mobile game in the world.
Most of this record spending on Cyber Monday—close to $2.8 million or nearly 85 percent of the total—came from players in the United States, where they had spent about $323,000 the week before, representing week-over-week growth of 767 percent.
