The second quarter of 2023 has been an interesting period for the top Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA) games on iOS in the European market. Sensor Tower's latest data showcases the performance of these competitive gaming apps.
Supercell's Brawl Stars experienced a significant spike in revenue, reaching around 621k in early May before settling to about 310k by the end of June. Downloads showed an upward trend with a peak of over 100k in the last week of June, while weekly active users saw a rise from around 3.4 million to over 3.3 million in the same time frame.
Shanghai Moonton Technology's Mobile Legends: Bang Bang also saw a notable rise in revenue, peaking at nearly 496k in mid-April, and ending the quarter with around 211k. Downloads remained relatively stable, with a slight increase from around 32k to over 37k. The active user base fluctuated slightly, ending the quarter with a strong count of over 527k.
Riot Games' League of Legends: Wild Rift showed a mixed revenue trend, with a peak of around 299k in late May, followed by a close of around 276k. Downloads remained steady, ranging from approximately 21k to 24k, while weekly active users gradually increased from around 450k to over 460k.
The Pokemon Company's Pokémon UNITE had a modest revenue performance, peaking at nearly 20k in early June. Downloads saw a slight decline throughout the quarter, with numbers hovering around 13k to 14k. The game maintained a consistent active user base, ending the quarter with over 152k weekly active users.
Level Infinite's Arena of Valor showed relatively small numbers in revenue, with a slight increase from around 11k to over 7k by quarter's end. Downloads saw a modest increase from approximately 1.9k to 2.1k, while the weekly active user count remained stable, finishing with a little over 10k.
