Top 10 Worldwide Mobile Games By Revenue and Downloads in September 2026

Honor of Kings maintained its position as the world’s highest-grossing mobile game in September 2026. ROBLOX, Gossip Harbor, Candy Crush Saga, and MONOPOLY GO! rounded out the global top five.

According to Sensor Tower’s App Performance Insights, Honor of Kings maintained strong revenue momentum in September, supported by its core China market. The launch of the “Moonlight over Chang’an” season introduced the new hero Wang Wei, fog-based combat mechanics, and the Travel Diary seasonal battle pass skin. The update coincided with a modest rise in downloads and spending, highlighting how fresh gameplay and seasonal cosmetics can renew player interest and support monetization.

ROBLOX delivered a strong September, alongside a busy calendar of new experiences and live events. Showdown brought fast-paced anime combat, while GOAT Football League added a playful twist to competitive soccer. The centerpiece, The Hunt: Roblox 20, celebrated the platform’s anniversary with quests across iconic experiences and exclusive rewards. Brookhaven RP introduced a Jurassic World crossover featuring dinosaurs and new vehicles, while Dungeon Heroes added its Dragon Festival battle pass with new pets, skills, and cosmetics. Together, these updates offered fresh reasons to return and spend, coinciding with stronger revenue momentum through the month.

Other top-grossing games maintained engagement through a steady flow of themed events in September. Candy Crush Saga featured Music Season, inviting players to create records and collect rewards, while a Shania Twain and Zedd collaboration added celebrity appeal and prize opportunities. Meanwhile, Pokémon GO opened the month with GO Fest 2026: Mega Finale, headlined by Mega Mewtwo X and Y raids. The Pokémon Horizons celebration followed with costumed Pokémon and themed rewards, before Harvest Festival introduced Shiny Applin at month-end, providing fresh collection goals into October.

Global consumer spending on mobile games across the App Store and Google Play reached $6.13 billion in September, down 7% month-over-month. The United States accounted for 28.7% of total revenue, followed by China (iOS only) at 15.7% and Japan at 12.4%.

On the revenue growth chart, ROBLOX also led rankings in September. The United States, United Kingdom, and Canada were its top three markets by iOS revenue, with the United States recording the largest absolute monthly gain. Meanwhile, Dragon Ball Z Dokkan Battle saw renewed spending during the Global Dokkan Campaign 2026. Players could use in-game currency for a chance to obtain featured characters, including Frieza and Super Saiyan Goku, followed by Super Saiyan Gohan and Perfect Cell, with revenue peaks coinciding with each character 's launch. Zeus: The God of Arrogance carried strong launch momentum into September following its August 26 release. Revenue remained robust as initial download activity moderated. The game also opened new server groups on September 16, giving players a fresh start and more room to play.

Eclipse: The Awakening, Smilegate Holdings’ high-fantasy MMORPG, ranked fifth in worldwide revenue growth in September, with South Korea leading spending. The game makes progression more flexible through an AI mode that develops characters while players are offline and support for play across PC and mobile. Players can combine abilities and fuse two skills to create new combat options, then join 10-minute, 20-versus-20 team battles. Launch events also offered guaranteed high-tier rewards, giving new players an early boost.

Tencent’s Honor of Kings Chess followed in seventh place, with China driving its performance. The auto chess title lets six players build teams using familiar Honor of Kings heroes and compete in rounds of automatic battles. Auctions, special abilities, and event cards add surprises that can change each match. Familiar characters make it approachable for fans, while varied team combinations give players new strategies to explore.

Overall, September’s results highlighted how established games and new releases sustained spending through different approaches. Seasonal updates, anniversaries, collaborations, and character releases gave players fresh reasons to return, while newcomers gained traction through familiar IP, strategic gameplay, and flexible progression systems. Top 10 Worldwide Mobile Games Download Rankings for September 2026

ROBLOX was the most downloaded mobile game worldwide in September 2026, followed by Free Fire at No. 2. Block Blast!, Subway Surfers, and Bus Fever Party! rounded out the top five.

ROBLOX again ranked No. 1 worldwide by mobile game downloads in September. Its broad library of creator-made experiences offers players a range of genres within a single platform, while social features let friends discover and play together. This combination of variety, shared play, and a steady stream of new content helps ROBLOX maintain broad appeal and attract new users.

Free Fire retained the No. 2 position by worldwide downloads in September. On September 16, the game brought back its collaboration with NARUTO SHIPPUDEN, based on the popular anime series about ninja adventures. Players could explore the series’ Hidden Leaf Village and complete missions to earn a free outfit based on either Hinata or Jiraiya, two characters from the show. The familiar setting and collectible rewards gave anime fans fresh reasons to play.

Bus Fever Party! climbed to No. 5 worldwide by downloads and ranked No. 1 by download growth in September. Published by Lumi Games, the sorting puzzle has accumulated over 21 million downloads since its June 2025 launch, with India, Brazil, the United States, Mexico, and Indonesia among its leading markets. Players clear traffic jams by moving buses and matching passengers to the right vehicles. Its simple controls, colorful visuals, and increasingly challenging puzzles combine accessible gameplay with strategic planning, helping explain its broad international appeal.

Global mobile game downloads reached 3.56 billion in September, down 5.2% month-over-month. India led with 576 million downloads (16.2%), followed by the United States (7.2%) and Brazil (6%).

Honor of Kings Chess made a strong debut in September, ranking second worldwide by download growth, with China leading downloads. The launch extended the Honor of Kings franchise into another genre, offering its established fan base a new way to engage with the IP. Its performance highlighted how familiar franchises can provide a strong starting point for new releases.

Brain Puzzle 3: Crazy Mind worldwide by download growth in September and climbed 16 places to No. 7 by total downloads. Published by SmallStep Dev Team, the riddle game combines humorous cartoon scenarios with puzzles that challenge players to find unexpected solutions. Simple tap-and-drag controls and helpful hints make it approachable, while varied story twists keep the format fresh. Indonesia and the Philippines were among its leading markets, alongside Brazil, Russia, and Mexico.

MiniMuse ranked eight by download growth following its September launch, with the United States and Brazil among its leading markets. Players can design characters, customize outfits, and create scenes to tell their own stories. These tools extend the game beyond dress-up, offering more ways to explore fashion and express creativity. Meanwhile, Keyboard Escape: +1 Speed ASMR , Color Block: Combo Blast  and Supercent’s  Bulldozer Master  ranked fourth, sixth, and tenth by download growth, respectively. Across obstacle courses, block puzzles, and idle digging gameplay, these titles combine familiar concepts with clear progression.

Overall, September’s download rankings highlighted the enduring appeal of established hits alongside opportunities for newcomers. Social play and recognizable IP kept leading titles relevant, while accessible puzzles, creative customization, and familiar gameplay themes offered varied entry points for new players. Together, these results show that both broad content libraries and focused gameplay concepts can attract sizable audiences across global markets.
