In the first quarter of 2023, the idle gaming genre continued to captivate players across Europe on the Android platform. With data sourced from Sensor Tower, we have observed the performance of the top five idle games in terms of downloads, revenue, and weekly active users.
Gold & Goblins: Idle Merger, a game published by AppQuantum, saw its revenue start at around $200k in late December and gradually decline to approximately $99k by the end of March. Downloads showed a sharp decrease from around 45k to just under 27k, while weekly active users dipped from around 227k to around 163k.
Kolibri Games' Idle Miner Tycoon: Gold & Cash experienced a slight decrease in revenue, starting at about $60k and stabilizing at around $40k. Downloads remained fairly steady with a peak of over 100k in late January, and weekly active users showed a resilient pattern, hovering around 1 million throughout the quarter.
Eatventure, from publisher Lessmore UG, saw a revenue uptick from approximately $33k to $46k. The game's downloads peaked at around 191k in mid-March before dropping to about 128k. Weekly active users showed robust growth, increasing from around 593k to 715k.
Idle Mafia - Tycoon Manager, developed by Century Games PTE. LTD., displayed a relatively stable revenue pattern, with minor fluctuations around the $20k mark. Downloads saw a decline from around 17k to just under 11k, and weekly active users decreased from around 80k to approximately 62k by the end of the quarter.
Tech Tree Games' The Tower - Idle Tower Defense had a revenue range from $23k to nearly $23k, exhibiting a stable trend. Downloads were consistent, with a slight increase from around 6k to over 8k. Weekly active users remained stable at around 20k.
The data from Sensor Tower provides more insights into the idler game category, showcasing how these top five Android games performed in Europe during Q1 2023. The trends indicate varying degrees of player engagement and monetization success, reflecting the dynamic nature of the mobile gaming industry.
