The final quarter of 2022 was an eventful period for MMORPGs in Europe, with several top applications showing interesting trends across downloads, revenue, and weekly active users. Data from Sensor Tower offers valuable insights into the performance of these games.
The Legend of Neverland started the quarter with around 113k downloads and witnessed a gradual decrease to 49k by the end of December. Revenue peaked at around 112k in early October but fell to approximately 73k towards the year's end. Weekly active users also saw a declining trend from around 181k to 141k during the quarter.
Diablo Immortal by Blizzard Entertainment saw significant revenue, starting at around 753k and experiencing fluctuations before ending the quarter at around 485k. Downloads for the game showed some variability, with a peak of around 59k in mid-October and a final count of around 44k. Weekly active users remained relatively stable, beginning at around 490k and closing the quarter at around 445k.
Dragon Trail: Hunter World showed a steady revenue decline from around 355k to 266k. Downloads dropped from 54k to 25k, and weekly active users decreased from around 105k to 62k by the end of Q4.
Sandbox Interactive GmbH's Albion Online displayed a revenue trend that varied slightly, with figures ranging from around 17k to 20k. Downloads started at 21k and saw a peak of around 30k in mid-November, concluding the quarter with 24k. Weekly active users had a high point of around 66k, also in November, ending the period with approximately 58k.
Rage Quit Games' Evil Lands: MMO RPG ended the quarter on a high note with revenue rising from around 11k to 22k. Downloads saw an increase from 21k to 33k, while weekly active users grew significantly from around 31k to 47k.
