Top Mobile Games in Southeast Asia for October 2022 by Downloads

Save the Doge from WONDER GROUP was the most downloaded mobile game in Southeast Asia for October 2022 with over 4.5 million installs. The countries with the most installs of Save the Doge in Southeast Asia during this period were Indonesia at 45.3 percent of its total downloads followed by Vietnam at 20.6 percent and Philippines at 17.9 percent. Gangster Crime, Mafia City from Zego Studio was the second most installed mobile game in Southeast Asia last month, exceeding 3.8 million downloads. The countries with the largest number of Gangster Crime, Mafia City installs in Southeast Asia were Indonesia at 46.9 percent, followed by Vietnam at 20.2 percent and Thailand at 11.9 percent.

Mobile Legends: Bang Bang from Moonton, Garena Free Fire (including Garena Free Fire MAX) and Roblox rounded out the top five most installed mobile games in Southeast Asia for the month.

The Southeast Asia mobile games market generated 704 million downloads across the App Store and Google Play in October 2022, marking a decrease of approximately 0.5 percent year-over-year. The No. 1 market for Southeast Asia game downloads was Indonesia, which accumulated 266 million installs, or 38 percent of total downloads in this region. Vietnam ranked No. 2 for downloads at 19 percent, followed by the Philippines at 17.4 percent.

My Hotpot Story from 零下七度 had its best month ever for downloads during October 2022, picking up approximately 3.2 million installs, a rise of 1208 percent from September 2022. The title also has the highest month-over-month increase among the Top 10. Thailand ranked as the title’s No. 1 country for new installs, picking up close to 2.2 million downloads in October, or 69.2 percent of the total. Vietnam ranked No. 2 at 13.6 percent, while the Philippines ranked No. 3 at 6.2 percent. The game became a popular trend on Twitter in Thailand with over 83 thousand tweets using its title hashtag. With user-generated content such as technique sharing, achievement celebrations, and item promotions, the game presented a surge of downloads as well as encouraging players to unlock higher achievements.
