US Android Market Q2 2023: Top 5 Puzzle RPG App Performances

The second quarter of 2023 has been eventful for the Puzzle RPG category on Android in the US. Here's a snapshot of how the top 5 applications fared according to data from Sensor Tower.

Puzzles & Survival by 37GAMES saw its revenue decline from around $1.1 million to $961,601 by the end of the quarter, with a notable dip to around $690k in late May. Downloads peaked at over 31k in early April but tapered to around 17k by late June. Weekly active users (WAUs) followed a similar downward trend, starting at around 94k and ending at approximately 82k.

Best Fiends - Match 3 Games from Seriously Digital Entertainment Ltd. experienced a fluctuating revenue pattern, starting at around $470k and reaching a high of over $503k in early April before settling at approximately $432k by the quarter's end. Downloads saw a dramatic increase, with a peak of over 103k in the last week of June, up from around 18k in late March. WAUs showed a decline from 285k to 250k, despite a mid-quarter spike.

Zynga's Empires & Puzzles: Match-3 RPG showed a revenue recovery in June, climbing back to around $900k after a low of approximately $656k in mid-April. The game's downloads remained relatively stable, hovering between 15k and 18k, while WAUs saw a slight decrease from 198k to 191k.

Published by StarFortune, Myths of Moonrise had its revenue fluctuating, with an initial increase to $147k in early April, a dip to around $90k, and a rebound to approximately $123k by mid-June. Downloads saw a significant jump to over 11k in both early May and late June, starting from around 6k in March. WAUs peaked at over 16k in late June, up from around 12k at the beginning of the quarter.

Lastly, DRAGON BALL Z DOKKAN BATTLE from Bandai Namco Entertainment Inc. had a remarkable revenue spike to $770k in early May but ended the quarter at around $182k. Downloads remained below 9k for most of the quarter, with a slight increase to over 6k by the end. WAUs fluctuated, peaking at around 121k in mid-May and closing at approximately 119k.
