Founded in 2015, Mistplay is a pioneer of play-and-earn, providing rewarded advertising and monetization solutions to mobile game and app publishers worldwide. Recently ranked #10 in Gaming Overall for Android in the AppsFlyer Performance Index 2025, Mistplay’s solutions help drive sustainable growth and unlock scalable rewarded engagement for their partners.

Mistplay was having difficulties researching competitor creatives, where ad libraries only showcased ads that were live. As creatives were paused or past publishing runs, Mistplay would constantly have to comb through multiple ad libraries across several networks, rather than reference one consolidated dashboard. They were also having trouble finding structured games metadata across a large set of games.

Solution

Sensor Tower’s Mobile App Insights product allowed Mistplay to understand which games to target for onboarding into the app, and map games lists to game genres. The creative gallery and App Advertising Insights became crucial tools to evaluate their competitor’s full stable of creatives, determine advertiser’s budget distribution for each acquisition channel, and analyze creative trends and concepts during specific timeframes. Their team also leveraged top charts to curate sales hit-lists based on MAUs, geos, and SDK usage.

The Mistplay team also utilized Audience Insights to understand how users are interacting with various apps and games, and how digital experience user retention progresses overall, in comparison to how Mistplay users have fared in the same titles.

This data has allowed them to identify how other significant games and their users are presenting themselves in the market concerning key in-game metrics.


Result

Sensor Tower’s data has heavily influenced multiple aspects of Mistplay’s business, with the BizOps, Commercial Sales, Marketing, Creative, Data Engineering, and Analytics teams all utilizing the tool daily.

The analytics team, which uses Sensor Tower’s estimates to rank sales targets, estimates a more than 10x return on investment into the platform in 2025, attributing to a lift in revenue. Additionally, the consolidated libraries have offered significant time savings, and aided in research, and ideation, as well as tracking creative ads.

With the constant changes in the iOS platform, evolution of creative styles, and the need for greater confidence in game data, Mistplay is looking towards the future, and its continued partnership with Sensor Tower.
