Brazil's Top Carpooling & Ridesharing Apps on Android in Q4 2020

In the fourth quarter of 2020, the carpooling and ridesharing app landscape in Brazil saw significant activity on the Android platform. Sensor Tower provides insights into how these apps performed during this period.

Uber - Request a ride maintained a strong presence with downloads fluctuating around the 250K to 300K mark, peaking at over 300K in the first week of November. The weekly active users showed an increasing trend, starting at approximately 9.4M and reaching a high of almost 11M by the second week of December, before a slight dip to around 8.9M at the year's end.

inDrive. Save on city rides experienced a more variable trend in downloads, peaking at 234K in late September and then gradually declining to 103K by the end of December. However, its weekly active users saw an overall increase from 1.5M to 1.75M during the quarter.

For Uber - Driver: Drive & Deliver, downloads saw a remarkable rise from 32K to over 123K, indicating a growing interest among individuals looking to provide ridesharing services. Active users started at around 685K and peaked at 765K in mid-November, followed by a slight decrease to 672K by the year's end.

BlaBlaCar: Carpooling and Bus downloads showed a steady increase over the quarter, starting at 37K and more than doubling to 81K in the last week of December. Weekly active users presented a slightly different picture, with a dip to 493K in early November, followed by a steady rise to 686K by the close of the year.

Lastly, Uber Lite downloads remained relatively consistent, ranging between 34K and 45K throughout the quarter. Active users of the app showed some fluctuation but ended the quarter with a slight decrease, starting at around 1.35M and ending at 1.29M.
