Interactive Story Games See Varied Engagement in Europe Q4 2020

Interactive story games have held their own in the mobile gaming market, and the Q4 of 2020 was no exception. Sensor Tower's latest data offers insights into how five leading titles fared in Europe during this period.

Chapters: Interactive Stories from Crazy Maple Studio, Inc. showed a strong end to the year with weekly active users (WAUs) peaking at 722K in the last week of December, up from 636K at the start of Q4. Downloads reached their zenith in late October with 193K, while revenue hit a high of $670K in the final week of December.

Choices: Stories You Play by Pixelberry Studios displayed a steady increase in WAUs, concluding the quarter at 431K, an uptick from the initial 346K. Downloads saw a significant jump to 31K in the last week, and revenue also surged to $229K during the same period.

Episode - Choose Your Story, from Episode Interactive, saw its WAUs grow impressively from 869K to over 1M by the year's end. The game's downloads soared to 328K in the final week, and revenue followed suit, reaching nearly $300K.

HIGGS TECHNOLOGY CO., LIMITED's Romance Fate: Story Games had a promising quarter, with the number of WAUs climbing from 54K to 120K. Downloads had a high point of 98K in early November, and revenue peaked at $200K in the first week of November.

Lastly, Love Sick: Stories & Choices by SWAG MASHA experienced a dramatic rise in downloads to 208K in the last week of December. WAUs saw a significant increase, ending the quarter at 459K, up from the starting point of 461K. Revenue also saw a peak, reaching $200K in the final week.
