The final quarter of 2020 showed notable user engagement within the Utilities category for mobile applications in Brazil. This Sensor Tower report provides a glimpse into the trends and metrics for the top five Utilities apps during this period.
QR Code Reader · from TinyLab saw its revenue fluctuate, peaking at $9K in mid-October before dropping to $6K by the year's end. Downloads experienced a significant decline from 10K in late September to 3K at the close of December, while weekly active users dipped from 19K to 12K over the same period.
C-Punks' AdBlocker by C-Punks witnessed a consistent decrease in revenue, starting the quarter at nearly $7K and finishing at $3K. The app's downloads sharply fell to virtually zero after the first half of the quarter, and weekly active users followed a similar trend, dropping from 5K to just over 500.
Avast Security & Privacy by AVAST Software maintained a steady performance in revenue, ending the quarter with a slight increase to $4.5K. Downloads remained robust, ranging from 10K to 11K, and active users showed a positive uptick from 86K in September to 91K by December.
VPN Mobile Unlimited Proxy had a peak in revenue reaching $6.7K in mid-November, then settling at $3.7K by the end of December. Downloads saw a dramatic surge to 16K in early November but then declined to just over 1K. Weekly active users mirrored this pattern, peaking at nearly 16K before falling to 2K.
Lastly, McAfee Security & Wifi Privacy from McAfee, LLC. showed a solid revenue trend, starting at $4K and rising to $5K in the penultimate week of December. The app's downloads hovered around the 12K mark throughout the quarter, while weekly active users consistently stayed above 100K, ending the year just over 108K.
