The first quarter of 2021 has been an interesting period for auto applications in Brazil. With data provided by Sensor Tower, we can observe the performance of the top five auto apps on the unified platform, which includes both iOS and Android data. Here's a closer look at how these apps have fared in terms of downloads and weekly active users.
Drivvo - car management has shown consistent performance with downloads peaking at 3.3M in the early weeks of January and witnessing a gradual decline to 2.6M towards the end of March. Weekly active users followed a similar trend, starting strong at 17K in December and dipping to just under 18K by the end of March, despite a slight uptick in the second week of March.
Car Scanner ELM OBD2 also experienced a noteworthy quarter. Downloads started at 2.6M in late December, experienced a rise to 2.8M in early February, but then decreased to 2M by the end of March. The weekly active users mirrored this pattern, beginning at 4.7K, peaking at 5.1K in early February, and then decreasing to 4.3K by the close of the quarter.
Another notable performer was Carista OBD2. The app's downloads saw an initial increase from 313K in December to 349K in February, followed by a sharp decline to 187K by the end of March. The app's active users started at 192, peaked at 259 in mid-March, and ended the quarter slightly lower at 223.
BimmerCode for BMW and MINI, despite its niche market, showed an increase in revenue, particularly in mid-January and mid-February, with the highest revenue recorded at $371. Downloads and weekly active users remained relatively low and stable, with downloads peaking at 45 in late March and active users remaining at 12 for the majority of the quarter.
Lastly, Carly — OBD2 car scanner had negligible download numbers throughout the quarter, with a slight increase to 6 in mid-March. The app's revenue showed some fluctuations, with notable peaks at $197 in mid-February and $177 in mid-March.
