In the second quarter of 2021, the top communication apps on Android in Mexico showcased varying trends in downloads and active users. Here is a detailed look at the performance of WhatsApp Messenger, Messenger, Sticker.ly - Sticker Maker, Telegram, and Snapchat.
WhatsApp Messenger maintained a robust presence with weekly downloads fluctuating between 216K and 373K. The app's weekly active users remained relatively stable, hovering around 57M throughout the quarter.
Messenger experienced a peak in weekly downloads at 216K in mid-April, with numbers ranging from 138K to 187K over the quarter. The app saw a gradual decline in weekly active users, starting from 29M and ending at approximately 27M. Weekly revenue showed minor fluctuations, peaking at $77 in late April.
Sticker.ly - Sticker Maker saw weekly downloads ranging from 117K to 200K, with a slight downward trend towards the end of the quarter. Active users for the app remained fairly consistent, averaging around 2.8M.
Telegram had weekly downloads varying between 121K and 193K. The app's active users showed minor fluctuations, ending the quarter with approximately 2.5M users.
Snapchat exhibited a steady increase in downloads, peaking at 171K in mid-June. Active users also showed an upward trend, reaching around 15.2M by mid-June before slightly dropping to 14.6M at the quarter's end.
