The third quarter of 2021 saw significant activity for cryptocurrency apps on the Android platform in Nigeria. Here’s a detailed look at the performance of the top 5 apps, based on data from Sensor Tower.
Trust: Crypto & Bitcoin Wallet had a varied performance throughout Q3. Weekly downloads ranged from a low of approximately 19.7K in mid-July to a peak of around 35K in mid-September. Active users fluctuated, starting at around 566.5K at the end of June and ending the quarter at approximately 527.7K.
Binance: Buy Bitcoin & Crypto experienced steady growth in weekly downloads, starting at around 17K and peaking at approximately 29.9K in mid-September. Active users also showed a positive trend, increasing from about 309.7K at the end of June to around 331.1K by the end of September.
Blockchain.com: Crypto Wallet saw its weekly downloads hover between 8K and 11.6K throughout the quarter. The number of active users remained relatively stable, starting at approximately 93.2K and concluding the quarter at around 87.2K.
Bybit: Buy Bitcoin & Crypto showed notable growth in weekly downloads, rising from 2.2K at the end of June to about 9.6K in late August. Active users increased significantly, beginning at around 6.3K and ending the quarter at approximately 15.6K.
Coinbase: Buy Bitcoin & Ether maintained a steady download rate, starting at around 5.2K and peaking at approximately 7.7K in mid-September. Active users showed a slight upward trend, beginning at around 47.6K and reaching approximately 51.7K by early September.
