In the first quarter of 2022, the top 5 carpooling and ridesharing apps on the Android platform in Europe exhibited diverse performance trends. Here’s a closer look at the weekly downloads and active users:
Yandex Go: Taxi Food Delivery started the quarter strong with 222K downloads in the week of December 27, 2021. However, downloads dipped to 161K in the first week of January and fluctuated around the 140K mark for the rest of the quarter. Active users began at 5.6M but saw a decline to 3.8M by late January, before stabilizing around 4.2M in March.
Bolt: Request a Ride experienced a steady download rate starting from 183K in late December, gradually declining to around 126K in late January. Downloads then saw a consistent rise, peaking at approximately 173K in the final week of March. Active users fluctuated around 1.3M to 1.4M throughout the quarter, ending with a slight increase to 1.4M in the last week of March.
Uber - Request a ride observed a downward trend in downloads at the beginning of the quarter, starting at 167K and reaching a low of 99K in mid-January. However, downloads recovered, reaching 143K by early March. Active users started at 4.4M, dipped to 3.7M in early January, and then rose back to around 4.2M by the end of March.
BlaBlaCar: Carpooling and Bus had a fluctuating download rate, starting at 142K in late December and dropping to 86K by mid-January. Downloads then rose to a peak of 113K in early March. Active users began at 1.1M, dropped to 706K in mid-January, and gradually increased to around 736K by the end of March.
Uber Russia — order taxis saw a decline in downloads from 130K in late December to 54K by late January. Downloads then slightly recovered, averaging around 61K by the end of March. Active users started at 1.2M, decreased to 795K by late January, and stabilized around 874K by the end of March.
