The second quarter of 2022 saw notable trends among the top 5 social apps on the Android platform in Ghana. Data from Sensor Tower reveals interesting insights into the weekly downloads, revenue, and active user metrics for these apps.
TikTok showed a significant fluctuation in weekly downloads, peaking at around 334K in mid-May before dipping to approximately 82K in early June. Weekly revenue for TikTok varied, reaching its highest at nearly $2.9K at the end of April. Active users remained relatively stable, with a slight increase from 1.55M at the end of March to 1.61M by the end of June.
Familo: Find My Phone Locator experienced a moderate increase in weekly downloads, peaking at about 7.4K in early May. Weekly revenue saw a slight peak at $551 in mid-April before declining to around $304 by the end of June. Active users for Familo grew from approximately 15.6K at the end of March to 20.7K by the end of June.
Bigo Live - Live Streaming App had a steady climb in weekly revenue, peaking at $1.17K in the final week of June. Downloads fluctuated, with a notable increase to 1.7K at the end of June. Active users saw a rise from 4.1K at the end of March to over 6K by the end of June.
Unlimited Texting, Calling App showed a spike in weekly downloads reaching 2.4K in mid-April. Revenue remained relatively stable, peaking at $247 in early May. Active users increased from 2.2K at the end of March to approximately 4.4K by the end of June.
Tango- Live Stream, Video Chat saw a peak in weekly downloads at 332 in mid-May, while revenue remained relatively low, peaking at $326 in mid-April. Active users decreased from 7.6K at the end of March to around 6.5K by the end of June.
