In Q4 2022, the performance of the top 5 Navigation and Maps applications on a unified platform in Guatemala showed interesting trends. Here's a closer look at each app's performance based on data from Sensor Tower.
Waze Navigation & Live Traffic experienced a consistent increase in weekly downloads, peaking at around 34K in mid-December. Active users also saw a gradual rise, reaching approximately 263K towards the end of December.
Google Earth saw fluctuations in weekly downloads, with the highest point at around 9.3K in the week of November 21. Active users showed a notable peak at around 40.5K during the same week, before settling to about 27K by the end of the quarter.
Google Maps maintained a steady download rate, with a slight increase in the week of December 19, reaching approximately 3.3K downloads. Active users remained relatively stable, fluctuating around the 220K mark throughout the quarter.
GPS Navigation - Route Planner experienced a peak in weekly downloads in mid-October with around 4.1K downloads. Active users followed a similar trend, peaking at approximately 5.4K in the same period, but later decreased to around 2.9K by the end of December.
GPS Satellite Maps: Live Earth showed a varied pattern in weekly downloads, peaking at around 3.1K in mid-October. Active users reached their highest at approximately 14.5K during the same period, with a gradual decline to around 11.8K by the end of the quarter.
