In Q1 2023, the performance of the top 5 anime games on a unified platform in the United States displayed varied trends in weekly downloads, revenue, and active users. Here are the highlights for each game, based on data from Sensor Tower.
DRAGON BALL Z DOKKAN BATTLE from Bandai Namco Entertainment Inc. saw a significant spike in weekly revenue at the start of the year, peaking at approximately $7.2M in the final week of December. However, revenue generally declined over the quarter, with a notable low of around $474K in early March. Weekly downloads peaked at 38.8K in mid-March, following a steady pattern throughout the quarter. Active users started at 371K in late December, decreasing to around 270K by the end of March.
DRAGON BALL LEGENDS, also from Bandai Namco Entertainment Inc., showed a peak in weekly revenue at $4.6M in late December, with a general decline to around $549K by early March. Weekly downloads peaked at 15.5K in early January and maintained a steady decline, ending at around 7.9K. Active users started at 250K in late December, fluctuated throughout the quarter, and ended at about 219K.
Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel, also from KONAMI, showed its highest weekly revenue at $609K in mid-February. Revenue generally fluctuated but ended at around $215K. Downloads peaked at 30.6K in mid-February, with a low of around 14.4K in late January. Active users saw a notable peak of 120K in mid-February, ending the quarter at approximately 93K.
