The first quarter of 2023 has shown varied performance trends for the top carpooling and ridesharing apps in New Zealand. Here's a closer look at how these apps fared in terms of weekly downloads and active users.
Uber - Request a ride saw a consistent increase in weekly downloads, peaking at around 8.1K in the week of February 20. The app's weekly active users also showed an upward trend, with a notable peak of approximately 284K in the week of March 6.
Uber - Driver: Drive & Deliver experienced a steady pattern in weekly downloads, maintaining numbers around the 2K mark, with slight fluctuations. The app's weekly active users remained consistent, hovering around 28K to 29K throughout the quarter.
DiDi Rider: Affordable rides observed a relatively stable download rate, with weekly downloads ranging between 1K to 1.5K. Active users for the app remained steady, averaging around 9K to 10K throughout the quarter.
Ola: Book Cab, Auto, Bike Taxi faced fluctuations in its weekly downloads, peaking at 1.2K in the week of January 23. The app's active users saw a peak of approximately 24K in the same week, but generally hovered around the 20K mark.
YourRide - NZ Taxi App had a modest performance, with weekly downloads mostly under 400, peaking at 422 in the first week of January. Weekly active users data was not available for this app.
