In the third quarter of 2023, the top 5 communication apps on the Android platform in Venezuela have shown varying performance trends. Here’s a closer look at how these apps have fared in terms of weekly downloads, revenue, and active users.
WhatsApp Messenger maintained a strong presence throughout the quarter. Weekly downloads peaked at around 119K in mid-July but saw a gradual decline towards the end of September, settling at approximately 73K. Active users, however, experienced a steady increase, rising from 14.7M in late June to 15M by the end of September.
Mi Movistar saw significant fluctuations in its weekly downloads. Starting at 105K in late June, downloads dipped mid-quarter but rebounded to a high of 117K in the week of September 18. Active users showed a decline early in the quarter, dropping from 389K to 316K by the end of July, but then recovered to 342K by the end of September.
Telegram experienced consistent weekly downloads, fluctuating between 66K and 91K throughout the quarter. The app's revenue saw small but notable peaks, reaching up to $182 in mid-August. Active users remained relatively stable, hovering around 970K to 985K during the quarter.
Snapchat witnessed a substantial increase in weekly downloads, starting at 35K in late June and peaking at 75K by early September. Revenue saw a slight increase, with a notable peak of $14 in the final week of September. Active users also saw an upward trend, rising from 2.1M in late June to nearly 2.4M by the end of the quarter.
Messenger showed relatively stable weekly downloads, ranging from 41K to 52K throughout the quarter. Active users remained steady, increasing slightly from 881K in late June to 908K by the end of September.
