Top 5 Navigation and Maps Apps on Android in Russia Q4 2023

During the fourth quarter of 2023, the top 5 navigation and maps apps on the Android platform in Russia showcased a variety of trends in downloads and weekly active users. Here, we break down the performance of these apps based on data from Sensor Tower.

MAPS.ME: Offline maps GPS Nav experienced a fluctuation in downloads, starting at around 13.3K in late September and dropping to approximately 6.1K by mid-December. Weekly active users followed a similar trend, declining from 54.1K at the beginning of the quarter to around 41.8K by early December, with a slight recovery to 44.6K by the end of the quarter.

Petal Maps – GPS & Navigation saw a modest variation in downloads, beginning with 5.5K in late September and peaking at 6.7K in mid-November before ending the quarter with 5.8K downloads. Weekly active users showed a general upward trend, starting at 7.2K and reaching 8.2K by the end of December.

Google Maps maintained relatively stable download numbers, fluctuating between 2.7K and 3.7K throughout the quarter. However, weekly active users saw a decline from 313.6K in late September to around 260.7K by mid-December, with a slight increase to 274.4K by the end of the quarter.

Live Earth Map: Street View 3D had a varied download performance, starting at 2.8K and experiencing a dip to 1.6K by late October, before recovering to around 2.7K in mid-December. Weekly active users displayed a similar pattern, beginning at 8.9K and dropping to 6.6K by late October, with slight fluctuations ending at 7.3K by the end of December.

Waze Navigation & Live Traffic showcased stable download figures, beginning at 2.6K and maintaining between 1.7K and 2.5K throughout the quarter. Weekly active users showed a slight decline from 31.8K in late September to 27.6K by early November, with minor fluctuations ending at 27.8K by the end of December.
