As the year wrapped up, the Food and Diet tracking application category on the iOS platform in France showed varied trends in user engagement and downloads. Sensor Tower data provides a closer look at how these apps performed during the fourth quarter of 2023.
YAZIO Calorie Counter & Diet saw a spike in revenue, particularly in the last week of December, hitting around $26K. Downloads peaked early October at approximately 6K but saw a significant jump to over 10K in the week of Christmas. Weekly active users started at roughly 157K but dipped to around 117K by the end of December.
For WeightWatchers: Weight Health, revenues fluctuated, with the highest around $18K mid-December. Downloads remained below 2K for most of the quarter but experienced a rise during the last week of December, reaching around 1.4K. Active users saw a slight decline from 2K to just over 1.4K over the quarter.
MyFitnessPal: Calorie Counter maintained a steady revenue stream, with a slight decrease towards the end of the quarter, from $16K to $12.5K. Downloads showed a declining trend, with a high of over 4K in late September to around 2.7K by Christmas. Weekly active users were highest at the start of the quarter with 218K but had decreased to 156K by December 25th.
Foodvisor - Nutrition & Diet witnessed its revenue nearly double from the start of the quarter at $8.4K to $16K in early December. Download numbers were strongest at the end of October at over 4K but fell to around 2.5K by the end of December. Active users saw an initial increase from 8K to over 10K in October but then a decrease to around 8.5K by the quarter's end.
Lastly, Yuka - Food & Cosmetic scanner showed a steady revenue with a slight peak at the beginning and end of the quarter, reaching over $7K. Downloads were strong throughout, with a notable increase to over 22K in the last week of December. Active users showed a high of 254K in early October but ended the quarter with a slight uptick at 233K after a mid-quarter dip.
