During the first quarter of 2024, the top communication apps in Hungary showed varied performance across downloads, revenue, and active users. Messenger from Meta Platforms, Inc. experienced a steady increase in weekly revenue, peaking at approximately $108 in the first week of March. Weekly downloads showed significant growth mid-quarter, reaching 33.9K in the week of February 26. Active users, however, saw a slight decline from 2.7M to around 2.6M throughout the quarter.
NAV-Mobil had a substantial increase in weekly downloads, particularly in March, with a peak of 39K during the week of March 18. Active users also saw an upward trend, rising to over 108K in mid-March.
WhatsApp Messenger maintained a consistent download rate, with a notable peak of 22.4K in the first week of March. Active users fluctuated slightly but ended the quarter with a strong 1.7M.
Rakuten Viber Messenger from Viber Media saw a significant spike in revenue in mid-March, reaching $2.8K. Downloads remained relatively stable, with a peak of 10.4K in early March. Active users hovered around 2.4M for most of the quarter.
Telegram experienced steady weekly revenue, peaking at nearly $2K in the week of February 19. Downloads remained consistent, with numbers ranging between 6.5K to 8.7K. Active users were stable throughout the quarter, maintaining around 210K.
